Engineering Problem Solving with MATLAB will introduce the reader to the MATLAB programming language as a tool for solving engineering problems, while exposing him or her to systematic methods for solving engineering problems. Topics include basic programming concepts such as variables, operators, expressions, scripts, input/output (I/O), branches and loops (control structures), functions, structures, and strings, with a special emphasis on arrays and array operations. Examples and applications will illustrate how programming can be applied to specific problems in engineering computing and visualization, such as audio and image processing, Monte Carlo simulation, basic numerical methods for solving equations, interpolation and curve fitting, calculus, and dynamical simulation using object-oriented programming.
